Troop 88 & 3088's Annual Ski/Snowboard/Snow Play Trip is HERE!

This year we also invite all non-Skiers/Boarders to join us and come play in the snow at the lodge!

This annual trip is always a Scout favorite whether your Scouts Skis, Snowboards or just comes to play in the snow.

The Troops will dive up to Show Low on Friday night and stay in the First United Methodist Church in Show Low.  We wake up early on Saturday and drive to the Ski resort where Scouts can either Ski, Snowboard or just play in the snow all day and play board games in the lodge. We then head back for group dinner at the church and an evening of games and fun. On Sunday we will drive back to Gilbert, arriving around noon.

Scouts should plan to bring their favorite board game or card game to play on Saturday after we get back from the slopes. A detailed packing list will be sent in advance of departure.

The base cost of the trip is $XX per Scout, $XX per Adult.  Scouts will need to be sent with $30 cash for Friday night dinner($10) and Saturday lunch on the mountain($20). This $30 amount is required whether or not your Scout will be skiing/snowboarding.

If your Scout will be skiing or snowboarding, there are an additional cost due to the Troop for the lift ticket we buy as a group and for any equipment rental needed. The lift ticket prices vary based on your Scout's age and whether they are also taking half day lessons.  Equipment Rental prices vary based on Ski vs Snowboard.

Equipment Rental

Gear Rental has been secured through Action Ride Shop in Mesa at greatly discounted pricing:

  • Ski, boots, poles, helmet rental - $35
  • Snowboard, boots, helmet - $40

The mandatory gear fitting for gear rental will be on Wednesday February XXth from 4 to 6:00 PM. A parent must accompany the Scout and fill out paperwork directly with Action Ride Shop and pay for the rental directly that evening.  If you cannot make the scheduled group time, you must stop by before 6:00 PM the next day (Thursday) to get your fitting done. The Troop will pick up all rented gear the Friday morning of departure, and will return the gear on Monday morning.

To help give Parents the overall costs associated with this event based on how their Scout will be participating, we have prepared the following table which includes the amount due to the Troop and what you as a Parent would be responsible for. Total All In Costs are highlighted in yellow:
