Troop 88 and Troop 3088

Scouting Done Right Since 1925

A Century of Traditions Carried Forward

For over a century, Troop 88 has effectively guided youth in and around Gilbert to become their best selves while instilling the cornerstone Scouting values of Citizenship, Leadership, and Service to others. In 2019 we welcomed the arrival of our sister Troop, Troop 3088.

Through this mission, our Troops have helped over 175 Scouts achieve the highest rank available to a Scout: the Eagle Rank.

This prestigious achievement demands hard work, dedication, and motivation, while exemplifying the three aims of Scouting:

Character Development
 Citizenship Training
 Personal Fitness

Character Development

As a Troop, we believe that education and bettering one's skill set in all areas is a lifelong journey.

All Scout Leadership positions are required to complete the BSA Introduction To Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST).  ILST teaches Scouts in leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It is intended to help Scouts in leadership positions within their Troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities in and outside of the Troop.

Citizenship Training

A good citizen starts with a good leader.  Throughout a Scouts journey with our Troops, we believe in mentoring our Scouts in a way that brings out the best in their character, instills confidence and imparts lifelong leadership skills that will help our Scout succeed in whatever they do.  Our Troop motto is "Prepared for Life" for a reason.

Personal Fitness

Scouting is designed to take place outdoors. It is in the outdoor setting that Scouts share responsibilities and learn to live with one another and operate using the Patrol Method.  In the outdoors the skills and activities practiced at troop meetings come alive with purpose. Being close to nature helps Scouts gain an appreciation for the beauty of the world around us.

To be successful in the outdoors, a Scout must be physically fit as many of the outdoor adventures we undertake require stamina and physical conditioning to participate in.
